I've had the idea of an aquatic/mermaid character, but I prefer the less "cutesy" version of mermaids. Frolicing and helping sailors. That's boring. Then I thought of taking a political view to it, and I got my idea: mutated mermaid. With pollution going into pretty much every body of water on the planet, changes are bound to occur. And here's the beauty, she doesn't start as a mermaid. Nope, mutated fish into a human/fish hybrid. Gonna explain more, if you don't mind.

(The story, not fact) After generations of oceanic pollution, changes and started to occur in the marine life. Most noticeably, are hybrid creatures, combinations of several species in one organism. Mermaid (of no decided name yet) started life as a usual fish, living each day to eat and poop. After direct contact with chemicals, started to rapidly mutate into a human fish hybrid. Captured by a government, she was codenamed EVE, and set ito a tank with a horribly deformed merman; part man, part fish, and part other sea creatues. They were classified as ADAM and EVE, the first of new mutations.

Days after her capture, EVE showed her primal fish instincts and ate the weaker ADAM. Moved to a secluded tank, EVE mutated more. She gained ADAMS memories of the facility, and used his information to escape during a tank cleaning. Back into open water, she mutated more. Her body was not fully coded, and each creature she ate gained her new abilities and DNA she never experienced before. A starfishs regeneration abilities, anglerfishs lantern, octopie shape change and ink. One day, she found a pufferfish. Knowing the powerfull toxin inside, she consumed it, hoping to gain such defensive abilities. But it backfired. The posion didn't become a defence, it became her stomach acid. Vomiting toxin is her only relief of the stomach pains, or constantly eating. With each creature she consumes, she becomes powerfull. Top predator of the sea is no longer the shark.

Yeah, that's my idea. I've always wanted to have the first of some species named ADAM and EVE, so here it is. Yay me xD
